2006 BCBSRI Direct Pay Subscriber Reimbursements
OHIC received a number of complaints from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island's Direct Pay subscribers regarding the processing and crediting of deductibles in connection with the transition of those subscribers to new Direct Pay products last spring. As a result of OHIC bringing those complaints to the attention of Blue Cross, approximately 2,346 affected Direct Pay subscribers received refunds for overpaid deductibles, with a total payout of approximately $298,230.
