2011 Provider Survey Results

The Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner has completed its annual survey regarding provider interactions with health insurers. The survey asked physicians to assess health plan performance in the following areas: Fair Treatment of Providers (including rates, claims processing, and general provider services), Payment Methods, and Health Plan Efforts to Improve the Health Care Delivery System.

The survey found directional improvements across most metrics by all carriers, although areas of significant dissatisfaction remain and there was significant variation in the ratings of health plans. In general, provider satisfaction with claims processing accuracy and simplicity and payment methods improved for all carriers.
