The General Assembly also authorized the OHIC to engage Rhode Island providers to ensure that they receive fair treatment by insurers. The OHIC frequently facilitates communication between providers and insurance carriers as well as investigates any complaints by a provider against an insurer concerning reimbursement or other relevant issues.
